چکیده

Ferronickel slag is a by-product of the nickel smelting process. Recycling ferronickel required since it contains valuable elements besides its potency to pollute environment. In order take advantage materials and reducing potential hazard, beneficiation essential. Alkali fusion using Na2CO3 in roasting process was carried out. This study aims determine decomposition mixture slag-Na2CO3 Roasting temperature time were 800–1,000 °C 60‒240 minutes, respectively. Characterizations conducted by XRF, ICP-OES, XRD SEM-EDS. A Study of the Influence of Slag Alkali Level on the Alkali-Silica Reactivity of Slag Concrete

Ground granulated blast furnace slag (ggbs), can reduce the alkali load in concrete, despite its relatively high alkali content. Most research has been devoted to the efficacy of slag with an alkali content of less than 1.0% and this is reflected in guidance documents. A comparative assessment was made of the effect, if any, of the alkali level of ggbs on potential alkali-silica reactivity. Exp...

Effect of Na3PO4 on the Hydration Process of Alkali-Activated Blast Furnace Slag

In recent years, the utilization of different non-traditional cements and composites has been increasing. Alkali-activated cementitious materials, especially those based on the alkali activation of blast furnace slag, have considerable potential for utilization in the building industry. However, alkali-slag cements exhibit very rapid setting times, which are too short in some circumstances, and...

The Interfacial Transition Zone in Alkali-Activated Slag Mortars

The interfacial transition zone (ITZ) is known to strongly influence the mechanical and transport properties of mortars and concretes. This paper studies the ITZ between siliceous (quartz) aggregates and alkali-activated slag (AAS) binders in the context of mortar specimens. Backscattered electron (BSE) images generated in an environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM) are used to identif...

Potential Soil Contamination in Areas Where Ferronickel Slag Is Used for Reclamation Work

This study aims to analyze contamination with the use of soil reclaimed with ferronickel slag (FNS). In order to investigate any contamination due to FNS disposal, soils were collected from three sites. The contamination analysis was done on these samples through a series of laboratory tests. Furthermore, laboratory tests simulating field conditions were performed in a soil chamber. In the lab ...
